MERIT AWARD
Nominating Committee
Executive Sales Council
T.R.E.B.
Regarding: Nomination of John Collins
It has been my honour to nominate TREB colleagues for this high award every year since 1989.
In that time, I have come to appreciate just how rare these people are and, thus, how meaningful the AWARD is.
It’s an interesting process searching for a worthy nominee. I’ve found that you have to do some real digging to uncover the gems. They don’t really shine until you unearth them and take a close look. For me, some are indeed brilliant but sparkle with self-interest. The true gems, however, even when uncut, have a glow about them that is unmistakable. The light they shine is love. These few expect nothing back. You see it not only in what they do but in the trust others have in them, in the respect in which they are held. These few have that intangible quality of making others feel better about themselves and more hopeful. John Collins is one of these special few. In asking others about him, one of his colleagues told me that if he could someday be what John is, on that day he would be a better person. When I heard that, I knew my search was over.
I am honoured, therefore, to put his name before you as a worthy candidate for the MERIT AWARD.
In him you will find the ideal REALTOR, a decent, honest, and respectful individual who balances his professional life with a commitment to community and to the less fortunate, with a strong and stable family and spiritual life, and an abiding respect for clients, colleagues and community.
Yours truly,
G.C. Sloan
